Treat Yourself to Something Special
Mahogany Models only makes custom models.
We never take the cookie-cutter approach that makes everything look similar to everything else and to be honest……..just plane boring.
Every project begins from scratch. A typical client is someone like you, who has an intense interest in aviation or aerospace vehicles.
We are particularly favored by professionals including aircraft designers who are looking for an exact replica…. with all the details.
But the good news is that you don’t have to be an aerospace engineer, a Hollywood celebrity or a unit of some big Fortune 500 company to own something like this.
Now, there’s no need to be left out in the cold……….. just wishing. You can join in too.
And even if you do represent a Fortune 500 company or any other group, you are still included.
The only difference between our customization for big businesses and individuals is in the quantity ordered. Everything else stays the same.
Unlike most of our competitors, we never sell anything that is prefabricated and has been sitting around in a dusty storage room…..for who knows how long.
Your model will begin as a virgin hunk of mahogany hardwood that will be hand-crafted with all the elements you specify in your order.
You can send instructions, diagrams, pictures, etc showing all the details……

Here's a real example of what we can do:
Our very first customer was an Air Force fighter pilot. He wanted a model of his squadron's F-16’s.
But with a catch….. It had to be six feet long with two different paint schemes and designs on both sides of the vertical tail.
In addition he wanted some nose art that showed a "fire engine red" medieval image of a flying devil riding on a pitchfork passing by a Bavarian castle, to match his tactical call sign (DEMON). I’m not making this up.
Of course his real name and that of his crew chief were to be emblazoned on the canopy rails in yet another design that his wife came up with!

A little unusual perhaps…… but no problem for us.
We didn’t throw up our hands and go running from the room or snap back saying it’s too hard.
Instead, we got it done. Good thing we have great artists and designers on staff who are don’t mind a good challenge every now and then.
I’m happy to report his six foot model is suspended from the ceiling, hanging in mid-air in his airplane hangar in full view of all who enter. This beauty weighed about sixty two pounds (62 lbs) with all bombs and missiles.
According to him, the sight of this master piece on display seen from the ground has the effect of taking the breath away from every new visitor.
"The Major" is well pleased.

Crash and Burn
Perhaps the strangest of all was a customer of ours who ordered a model of his personal airplane, a 1946 Luscombe 8A that he crashed into the weeds years ago!
The only pictures he could send us were after crash pictures because he had no before crash photos.
So, from the color pictures of a crashed airplane we built a perfect mahogany replica of his beloved Luscombe 8A in full detail with matching paint scheme, just the way it looked when it was still all in one piece.
Although he managed to walk away with a few broken bones he wanted more than just an old tattered Polaroid photo to preserve the memories of his plane. Now he's got it in the form of his own customized model, (fully intact of course) in brilliant color, sitting on his desk.
Right now you can stumble into any hobby shop and get all sorts of cheap plastic (meaning very breakable) models and put them together yourself.
But why do this when you can have something so much better?
I, for one, was never any good at gluing plastic parts together. I always had too much glue smeared all over the place. My models always seemed to look like glazed donuts you see at the mall.
Why not give it to the pro's .......master craftsmen who can carve almost anything precisely from a hunk of mahogany hardwood. Wait until you see the paint job on your model. You won't be disappointed. It takes a little time to produce such a work of art, but we promise it is well worth the wait.
If you're interested in a really detailed model, something special to show friends, clients, business associates, or aviation enthusiasts let Mahogany Models make your dream come true. It’s easy to order with us.
Don’t be surprised if you get accused of stealing the model from a museum. Not to worry. We can provide references if needed.
