Consider the two pictures of the New Mexico Air National Guard F-16’s below.
What is interesting is what most observers completely miss.
The picture of the model upside down shows typical armament for battle, several missiles and fuel drop tanks.
But the drop tanks on a real F-16 are of a slightly different shape than drop tanks on most other military aircraft. Perhaps you know that……perhaps not.
Easy to miss and maybe no big deal to some…….but considered
a life or death issue to the selective clients we serve, who are way too sharp to miss such a mistake
Gone but Not Forgotten
Times have changed, old military bases have closed and onetime front-line military aircraft have gone to the graveyard.
But many who flew them are still alive and kicking today.

Don't Need Pilots Anymore?
In the not-too-distant future, some forecast that most if not all military aircraft will be flown entirely by robotic control. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV’s) flown (remotely) by folks in air conditioned trailers thousands of miles away will conduct all missions.
Of course we have nothing against UAV’s, here’s a model of an Army prototype we made a while back.
No one knows for sure if military pilots (maybe civilians too) will be a thing of the past some day.
But for those who have been there in the heat-of-battle, all that may remain to remind future generations of the way things used to be may consist only of faded old photos. Without something physical that you can point at, to tell the tale of real action, bravery, service and sacrifice… that history will soon be forgotten.
